Joshua Tree National Forest

We left the Grand Canyon yesterday and drove through the Mojave Desert. There was a lot of nothing but dust and sand and small desert plants. At one time I took a picture and there was nothing in it but sand! We stopped at Joshua Tree National Forest. The picture at your right is a Joshua Tree. They are elegant trees and each tree makes it's own shape as it grows.

There has been a lot of rain at Joshua Tree this year, and the wild flowers are abundant and beautiful!

The other interesting thing to see at Joshua Tree is these huge rounded rocks. There are many formations and arches and split rocks. I kept seeing the Pillsbury Doughboy!
